Monday Morning
Bethel tour, Emmen
A glimpse of the recieving line as we entered. The family here, about 120 Bethelites, were so welcoming and excited! They went above and beyond to make each department a fun place to visit.
At the Braille Production Department, each delegate had a personalized bookmark waiting for them.
We learned that one study edition of the Watchtower takes 20 minutes to print, and that literature has been printed in 32 different Braille languages!

"Back to the 1970s" in the computer department...
and the '90s, too!
A little "candy shop" set up for the tour
The traditional Dutch food served out in the garden was delicious and really fun to try! Bitterballen, carrot mash, sausage, pea soup, tampoezen... they had a little bit of everything prepared!
Our absolute favorite was poffertjes - tiny, fluffy pancakes, covered in melted butter and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
All week we heard, (and enjoyed saying,) "Eet smakelijk!" which is the Dutch version of "Enjoy your meal!"
Of course, traditional pickled herring! Leila was brave and gave it a try.
We loved meeting siblings Rik and Josefine from the cleaning department. Both so funny!
Beautiful live music that everyone could sing along to
Laughing hysterically at the "air bag" he just threw... he aimed for the cans but it went for the tree
Shooting this green screen video was hilarious! We were missionaries trying to make a risky literature delivery... our performance was definitely one of the zaniest!
We added our "Love from Jenkins, KY" just above the word JOY
So, the LDC brothers were super silly. If I thought I had a sledgehammer in my hand, I was mistaken... because clearly it was a microphone... etc. etc.
A heartfelt goodbye.
Leila and I thought our bus hadn't arrived yet, so we joined the line and were singing and hugging the delegates goodbye, just having a good old time...
Glad Addi texted that our bus was ready to go!
But how nice that for days, with busloads of friends coming and going, there were always Bethelites running out to the entrance to say hello or goodbye!
