One of the highlights of our summer is hosting groups that visit unassigned territory. Since that's not possible this summer, Ryan has instituted "Unassigned Thursdays" for Zoom service. Friends that have visited in the past join our Jenkins service group so we can still work together! Our friends from the Bronx regularly log on.
We had the chance to work with the Magees, who have been visiting almost every summer for 10 years now!
Thursday was Jordan and Janelle's last meeting with us. We've loved having them this spring and summer, even if we couldn't visit in person.
They were interviewed for the kid's video part, and did very well. After the meeting, amongst all the friends' greetings, this little voice came through saying slowly, "Brother Williams, Brother Williams... can we have a big ice cream??" 😆 It was the cutest thing. He ran right out to get them some before the store in town closed.
We're going to miss them!
Always cracking me up
Sweet Margaret makes jam every summer. She called the other day and asked if we'd help her with taste-testing, since Bill was always the one that did that job in the past. It's been about a year since he passed, and we know it has to be very hard on her. Yet she's always logged on for meetings and service, still has that contagious smile, and shares things like fresh peach jam with everyone. She's a gem!

On Saturday we got to enjoy an awesome virtual tour of ancient Egypt. We joined about 60 other friends, including Bella, Joey, some couples from our congregation, and the Magees. It reminded us of a Met tour, but with even more emphasis on putting ourselves into the relevant Bible accounts.
When someone commenting during convention review suddenly turns their camera around so you can see the bear across the street 😆
You can't really make it out in the photo I got, just wanted to save the memory...
Today was our last meeting with the Brattons... they've been asked to move over to the Gate City congregation to assist. We're going to miss them!
