We woke up July 28th to a flooded basement, road and yard.

Over the next day or so,
we got more information on how the flood affected our county.
Whitesburg, for example, was hit hard.

The damage varied widely, depending on exactly where your home or road was placed- on top of a mountain, next to a creek, down in a holler...

The brothers were organized and out to work the very next day

Three homes of friends in our congregation were damaged heavily. One was cleaned up and repaired in a relatively short period of time. A lot of hard work was done to stabilize the other two, but those families are still displaced over a month later.
The government funding process is long and complicated, but our friends are being helped through it by brothers serving as case monitors.

A lot of work needed to be done underneath the houses

Our yard, after the water receded.
We were very fortunate that only our basement flooded, and a team of friends had it cleaned up for us as soon as possible.
