Katie & I recently did a "freezer crockpot cooking day."
We prepared about a month's worth of meals each, all to be stored in the freezer
and then put in the crockpot each morning.
Just shopping for the ingredients was fun - "We need 17 onions."/ "Grab 4 pounds of shrimp!"/
"HOW MUCH beef do we need? That's crazy."
We were worried that our stuffed-to-the-brim cart was going to yield a huge bill,
but in the end we each spent $121.50. Not bad for a month of no-fuss dinners!
When it was all said and done . . .
The slicing and dicing took about 5 or 6 hours but it kind of flew by since we were so busy.
Plus we had each other for company, which made it a fun project.
When we first moved to Jenkins, we went over to the Jesseys' often for dinner and a movie.
We've recently gotten back into the habit.
The only problem is deciding what to watch . . . they literally have over 1,500 dvds.
Richie had surgery this week, so after service last night we headed over for a visit.
We played cards and had Katie's hot cocoa
And, finally, a hunting snowman.
With a rifle.
That's service in Jenkins!
